Q: Why did Bobbie Davis create Bobkat Naturals?

A: Bobbie Davis invented Bobkat Naturals' first solid balm when her oldest son was an infant with eczema. It was difficult to find truly natural skin care products gentle enough for a baby, yet seriously healing for adults, so she created her own.

A: Bobbie Davis has enjoyed a successful, multi-faceted career in sales, marketing, product development, and entrepreneurial activities. She is the founder of two commercial real estate companies and has served as President and Vice President of the Commercial Investment Division of the Greater Hartford Board of Realtors.

In 1991, she established Bobkat Naturals, L.L.C. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Ms. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Connecticut State University.

Q: What is a Veteran Owned Small Business?

A: A company owned by a veteran, active duty military, reservist or service disabled veteran of the United States Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard or National Guard. A Veteran Owned Small Business is unique in the fact that all their products and services are made by, sold by or serviced by United States military veterans.

Q: What are some of the natural ingredients in Bobkat Naturals' products?

A: We use only pure, natural plant based ingredients, selected especially for their healing properties.

calendua beeswax

Here is a list of the natural ingredients we use and their benefits:

Almond Oil: is a high quality oil, which is easily but slowly absorbed by the skin.

Beeswax: The most amazing natural ingredient we use! It has a natural SPF, which means you can’t claim sun protection on the label, because it depends on how much you put on and every wax is slightly different. Beeswax is never goes bad and is antibacterial.

Comfrey: We infuse whole root of comfrey because it very healing for the skin. It contains allatoin, a protein that speeds up cell renewal for rough or damaged skin. Don’t be fooled by comfrey extracts used by the big companies. It is not as healing as infusing the whole herb.

Calendula: This herb is part of the marigold family and is has a long history of medicinal and culinary use. We use it to aid in healing rough or problem skin. We infuse the organically grown flower tops into Rub It!

Cocoa butter: is one of the main ingredients in our lip balm. It never goes bad and always smells good! It melts at body temperature and give that smooth silky feel people love when you rub your lips together.

Tocopherol: aka Vitamin E. We only use plant-based vitamin E not the less expensive synthetic varieties. This oil is used primarily as a preservative for the almond oil and olive oil to help it last longer. It also provides the skin with nourishment and aids healing.

Essential Oils:

Clove: is antibacterial, antiseptic and analgesic and is a good oil for the prevention of disease and infection.

Lavender: is a natural antibiotic, antiseptic, antidepressant and detoxifier. It promotes healing and prevents scaring. It also stimulates the immune system and the cells of a wound to regenerate more quickly.

Tea Tree Oil: is a natural antiseptic. It has impressive antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. The Australian Aborigines have been using this indigenous tree for centuries to cure common skin problems.

Rosemary: is both a physical and mental stimulant. It has been used for its antiseptic properties, arthritis, muscle pain and much more. We love the way it works synergistically with Lavender.

Lemongrass: This fine herb gives a super lemon scent to our Gardener’s balm. It acts primarily as a bug repellant and offers aromatherapy to citrus lovers.
Citronella: We use this essential oil in our Bug Off Balm and our Bug off candle. It is one of the few natural ingredients the FDA recognizes as effective in repelling mosquitoes and other biting bugs.

Wintergreen: This sweet smelling mint is in our lip balm and has been used for centuries as an antiseptic and analgesic. It is a popular flavoring agent in lip balms and blends well with Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus: Native to Australia and among the tallest trees in the world. The oil is extracted from the green branches, leaves and nuts. It is used in our lip balm for its antiseptic action and to aid in healing chapped lips. It is also helpful for colds, herpes, flu and other viral infections.

Peppermint: Has been used by many ancient cultures, including the Egyptians, Chinese and American Indians for its useful health-promoting properties. It has a snappy mint aroma and aids the healing of skin irritations.

Q: How do you use RubIt!®?

A: Our balm is designed to be removed from the liner like a bar of soap. Massage gently into all the places your skin needs it most.
